Nike Olympics.

When USA Olympians stood atop the medals stand in Tokyo, they were outfitted in a sustainable head-to-toe look developed by Nike. I was part of the team at Tolleson tasked to design a garment bag to hold the entire look.

Working alongside Nike’s apparel team, we created an equally sustainable packaging system using Nike Grind material, part of the company’s ongoing efforts to repurpose old materials into new products.

Today, Nike Grind has transformed more than 130 million pounds of waste into new gear and apparel, some of which went into creating the buckles, zipper teeth and pulls found in each medaling Olympian’s package.

My role was to explore concept ideation with another designer, and lead the project through to final execution. We eventually solved for spots to hold the athlete’s shoes and phone within the garment bag itself. You can see a few initial concepts above.
